Frequently Asked Question
You may be asked to "clear your browser cache" at some point by a member of the Reahard & Associates support team. This document will show you how to do that.
What is a browser cache?
Whenever you visit a website, text, images, and other files are sent from the server where the website is hosted to your computer. In order to speed up your web-browsing experience, web browsers such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge store copies of every site you visit on your local hard drive. The place where these files are stored is called a "cache"
Why do I need to clear my browser cache?
Most of the time, you don't; modern web browsers do a pretty good job of managing their cache files. Sometimes, however, when you're experiencing a problem with a web site, support personnel will want you to clear out your cache in order to make sure that you're accessing the most current website files.
How do I clear the cache?
Google Chrome
The easiest way to clear your Google Chrome browser cache is to follow this link:
chrome://settings/clearBrowserData
You'll see a window that looks something like this:
Make sure the "Time Range" dropdown says "All time" and that all three checkboxes are selected. Press "Clear data" and you're done.
Mozilla Firefox
In Mozilla Firefox, you can access the history window by pressing and holding the Ctrl and Shift keys and then tapping the Delete key. That will bring up a window similar to the one shown here:
Select "Everything" for "Time range to clear" and make sure the checkboxes are selected as shown in the image. Press "Clear Now" and you're done.
